Chideock and the surrounding area is, without a doubt, one of the most beautiful areas of English countryside.

The Jurassic coast is home to so much history, nature and beauty and is England’s first natural world heritage site. The South West coast path stretches along this part of the coastline and of course is stunning. As well as this well-known path, Chideock not only has coastal walks, we have walks which are slightly more inland incorporating both our beautiful countryside as well coastal views.

We have so many beautiful walks around us that we have started to compile a few to share. Most of the walks are circular, returning to The George. There are different lengths and difficulties and we’ll be adding to the list of walks as time goes on, if you have any suggestions or walks please let us know and we’ll try and add them.

To make it easier to follow, as well as the description and pictures, which you can either print off or download to your phone, we have put signs up along the routes so that you know you’re on the right path, they look like this :-

All of the walks are along public footpaths. We are in an agricultural area so please be aware of livestock and crops, especially if you are walking with dogs. Chideock is also home to a shoot and as such year round there are game birds in the area, please try not to disturb these especially during the shooting season.
