Our oven has been supplied by our good friend, Matthew, of Woodfired Ovens. Once you’ve seen our oven in operation we’ll know you’ll want one of your own. Our Woodfired Oven

We’ve experimented with many different ways of cooking over the years and one of our favourites is cooking using natural fuels. We all enjoy a BBQ and we’ll regularly have BBQ’s at the George, but our favourite has to be our wood fired oven!

Sun terrace at the GeorgeWe make our own dough at least once a week and have regular pizza nights (Thursdays) but a wood oven is not just for breads and pizzas, it’s a great way to cook so many dishes. Fish, meats and roasted vegetables are given a smoky flavour from the oven and we regularly offer a selection of fine dishes cooked in this way.
