For self-catering accommodation why not try Chideock Cottage or Pound Cottage, both just across the road from the pub.

For B&B's Willowhayne Farm, Warren House, Broadlands and Bay Tree House are just a short walk away.

Alternatively, Highway Farm is just a quick hop on the bus down the road. Further afield is the stunning harbourside apartment, The Boardwalk in West Bay.

There are also many great caravan parks nearby including Golden Cap Caravan Park just down the road, Seadown Holiday Park or Newlands Holidays in neighbouring Charmouth.

Around Chideock

The George Inn is situated in the heart of the friendly West Dorset village of Chideock on the main A35 between Bridport and Lyme Regis. The World Heritage Jurassic Coastline and Seatown are less than a mile from us and there are plenty of walks to enjoy the beautiful surroundings, both to the coastline, along the coastal path to Golden Cap, and inland amongst the thatched cottages and farmland that surround the village.

The market town of Bridport and West Bay lies less than five miles to the east. Bridport holds a market every Wednesday and Saturday with a farmers market every second Saturday of the month and quaint West Bay is an excellent place to watch the comings and goings of the boats in the harbour or to enjoy the beaches or an ice cream from one of the many kiosks. If you’ve enjoyed visiting us at the George, you should pop in to The West Bay Hotel for a drink whilst you are in the area.

Lyme Regis CobbThe village of Charmouth lies approximately 4 miles to the west and as is renowned  worldwide for its fossil beaches and it's  Heritage Coast Centre. It’s beach shelves gently making it friendly for children of all ages who can also enjoy the rock pools that are revealed at low tide. The regency town of Lyme Regis is only one mile further west, famous for the Cobb. The picturesque streets are filled with quaint shops, pubs and tea rooms.

The village has some great history and we highly recommend the book 'A Wander Through Chideock' which can be bought in the village Londis shop.

The area is blessed with events and activities all year round and the staff at the George will always be happy to let you know what’s going on!
